With the 4 day combined SSI Open Water and Advanced Adventurer Diver Course including 9 dives you learn all the skills you need to dive safely and independently. This combined course include 4 Open Water training dives plus 5 specialty dives during the Advanced Adventure course. Specialty dives can be: Navigation I Deep I Perfect Buoyancy I Wreck Diving I Waves, Tides & Currents. These 2 fun-filled courses are for beginner divers. Including Digital Learning with the SSI education system. You will come prepared, sleep longer and safe money. Our SSI combined Open Water & Advanced courses including pool training and 9 Open Water dives by day trip boat. The final exam for the OWD course has 50 questions. The AA course does not have an exam, only knowledge reviews and diving. Your SSI certifications are valid worldwide, and giving you the ticket to adventure. We have a maximum class size of 4 students per dive instructor. You can choose to book a private course, giving you closer attention from your instructor.
SSI Training Center – Phuket Open Water Diver Courses
We believe in quality instruction and do not really wish to run rushed 2 day basic scuba diver courses. We run this course in 4 days with small classes, including 3 days by day trip boat to the islands of Racha Noi and Racha Yai to the south off Phuket, Phi Phi Islands to the east off Phuket, as well as King Cruiser Wreck, Shark Point and Koh Doc Mai if available. After completing the paperwork the first day at 9:00am and fitting on your dive equipment we can go straight to the pool. You should complete the FREE Digital Learning before course start. Confined Water Dives (Pool Dives)
You’ll be in the pool on the very first day of your course. The pool sessions cover a wide range of basic dive skills such as setting up your gear, clearing water from your mask, buoyancy control and proper entry techniques. You also practice some emergency skills, like sharing air (just in case). Oh and there is a swimming test too. You do need to be able to swim to take this course. By the time we’re done in the pool, you’re ready to hit the ocean with a splash!
Note : Lunch at the pool not included in course price, there is a restaurant to order Thai or international food, lunch likely to cost you about 150 – 250 Baht.

How do I get my dive certification? Is diving easy?
Learning to dive is not difficult. You may be a little nervous at the start, but the step by step structure of the course will take you through basics, then into a shallow pool before letting you loose on the reefs. Most people find out very quickly that diving is one of the most fun activities you can imagine! Here’s how the Open Water Diver course looks. Please note that on the video below are also certified divers shown. You will not penetrate a wreck during the OWD course or dive deeper than 18 meters. This thrill comes with the Advanced course :-)))
Phuket Open Water Dives
After your confined water fun, you will make 9 open water dives over the remaining course of 3 days with your Instructor. When we say “open water”, we mean the beautiful blue ocean! You start shallow and gradually go deeper. The maximum depth in the course is 18 meters. Now you can experience real underwater adventure! We make dives on full day boat trips to islands near Phuket. During the Advanced Adventurer course you will do a Deep Dive specialty to 30 meters as well.
Phuket Day Trip Diving
I’m not a great swimmer. Can I dive?
YES! You don’t have to be an Olympic swimmer to learn scuba diving. Most of the time you are wearing scuba gear such as fins and a BCD (like a jacket which you can fill with air), so there’s not much need for normal swimming. There is however a swimming test to make sure you are happy in the water. You need to be able to swim 200 meters or 300 meters with mask, snorkel and fins. There is also a 10 minute float test. In general you should be comfortable in the water and you should be fit and healthy with no medical issues to have fun diving in the sun.
